Three days of photo-walking in the Summer Capital of the Philippines with my phone, point-and-shoot and an open mind. I accidentally deleted about 60% of my photos. Spell CLUMSY. 😦
Baguio City is located in the province of Benguet in Northern Luzon. It was called as the “Summer Capital” because of its cool climate, thus became the tourist destination during Summer. It is a six-hour bus ride from Metro Manila. When we went there last March, it was so cold at night and was quite hot during noon. If you want to experience the coldest temperature, the best time to go there is during December.
The city is laid-back with several top restaurants that you should try like Canto and Rumah Sate in the Ketchup Community in Romulo Drive and Hill Station in Session Road. You may also want to see the Top 10 Yummiest Restaurants in Baguio by Pinaka.
We stayed at the Ridgewood Residences in Mines View Park which was pollution-free and far from the busy streets of the city. You can hire a cab for one day to go to all the major tourist spots in the city for Php 2500. You may want to list down all the places that you want to go to and try to negotiate with the driver. In our experience, it was the driver who suggested for us.
Nice photos, Julie! Ganahan ko sa inyong gi stayhan ay, cabin type and di pareha sa mga balay diri. Most times that I’m in Bagiuio, I usually stay in transient houses. Maybe next time.
